CAPO is the first-ever limited edition Carrara marble sculpture created by Jun Cha. Inspired by the ancient Roman tradition when a victorious general returned from battle, another warrior’s duty was to remind him, “Memento mori”: Remember you will die. The sculpture depicts a skull wearing the laurel crown of emperor Marcus Aurelius. Confronting the reality that life can be taken at any moment respects death as apart of the balance of Nature. Each unique piece of stone is rigorously quarried in the mountains of the Apuan Alps and meticulously hand sculpted from the purest marble in Carrara, Italy. Each skull is signed, numbered and comes in a custom made wood box with a certificate of authenticity.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jun Cha embodies the renaissance discipline through tattooing, sculpture and design. By evolving the craft of black and grey, his work focuses on the unifying nature of the creative process that encompasses all mediums through quality and excellence without compromise.
